The National Museum of Resistance and Human Rights, located on the Place de la Résistance in Esch-sur-Alzette, focuses on the history of the Second World War in Luxembourg. Its permanent trilingual exhibition (FR, DE, EN) covers a wide range of topics related to this turbulent period, including: the interwar period, life under the dictatorship and repression, the reactions of the population, the Nazi structures, the concentration camps, the Holocaust and the post-war period. A presentation of human rights and civil resistance completes the exhibition. Temporary exhibitions focus on historical or current topics and artistic or educational approaches.
The museum is currently undergoing major renovation work. Reopening on 1 March 2024.
